Faeth risked a peek over her shoulder. The beast was pawing through the forest detritus behind her like a tractor on steroids, plowing the soil. And since she was from Aerilon, she knew tractors. Faeth accelerated the pace for all the good it would do.
Did shifters enjoy ylve meat? She hoped not. They had a bad rep. Uncivilized. Hungry for flesh. Living for the kill. Of course, her parents badmouthed all breeds other than ylves. Their group, the Isolationists, were obsessed with purity.
The wolf’s claws gave him an advantage, digging into the ground, propelling himself toward her. He was fast. When she stumbled, she barely regained her running legs.
The beast chuffed, gaining on her. Faeth’s arms pumped faster. Her knees jacked up and down. But the impediments made it difficult to pick up speed. Toppled trees. Dips in the earth hidden under forest mulch. Thorny bushes.
Faeth blamed Ravine for her predicament. If her friend had not fallen asleep, she wouldn’t have taken a stroll through the woods, gotten lost, and been pursued by a crazed wolf shifter.
Sidetracked by her thoughts, Faeth almost missed the obstacle ahead. She stopped short, nearly tumbling over the steep bank of a river. As she teetered on the edge, beneath her was a rocky cliff and rushing water. Though her parents had nothing good to say about shifters, she hoped they were wrong.
With nowhere to run, she twisted around to peer at her pursuer. She could swear the damn wolf grinned.

This is the fourth book I've read written by T.M. Smith; I can’t wait to read more of her books. This is the sixth book in the Blood Coven World Series; it is a stand-alone short story. The story is about Faeth & Lobo.
I loved the mix-breed romance. I didn't expect that the story will go that way, but I enjoy it. I love the series and in everybody there is something new.
I thought this was a great read I couldn't put it down turning the pages. Just to see what would happen next. It was well written, and I can't wait to read more from this author. I recommend this book.

The Firebrand's Prey is the sixth book in The Blood Coven World. The book is an entertaining quick read that hits on a theme that is real in society today: the intolerance, biases, and bigotry people carry for other races and cultures. The storyline is also a cute love story with Faeth, a ylve, and Lobo, a wolf shifter and a Firebrand, being fated mates. Like any fated mate couple, they do not let the opinions of others ruin their forever love. With its very steamy romance, action, drama, and humor, I could not put The Firebrand's Prey down.
A wonderful read, I have enjoyed each book in the series. I also bought this story, I enjoyed the characters and the storyline.
I am totally in love with this tri-realm world. The Firebrands are all so kick butt. In this book, we have Lobo, a Firebrand that has been transferred closer to home to be near his parents as his father is ill. Finding out all of that made me cry. His Commander is Nace. As a wolf shifter, Lobo is sent to deal with the drug trade in North Shelters. Faeth is hanging at her friend, Ravine’s place and while her friend naps, she wanders off and ends up in Lobo’s path. As a Ylve, she is more a prey shifter. Lobo and she have a mega misunderstanding. The people who wish to keep the different kinds of breeds separate are getting worse- they are now doing interventions. More and more people are interbreeding and things get crazy. This book was an emotional roller coaster ride: I cried, Laughed, yelled, punched my bed/pillows; chewed on my nails and got so upset at one point I was dry heaving. But the story was entrancing and I really enjoyed it. I also enjoyed how Lobo & Faeth fell in love etc. Ravine is absolutely hilarious. I can’t wait to see what happens in the next book.
I have enjoyed every book so far and The Firebrand’s Prey is a great addition to the series. I found the storyline to be well written with Plenty of intrigue, some angst but plenty of humour to get you through this! Great main and secondary characters make this well worth a read.
This is a quick read with a great mix of action, suspense and romance. Heroine is quite feisty and Hero is a very strong and loving shifter. There is some conflict but all in all I really enjoyed this story
Lobo is a wolf shifter and one of the Firebrands. They are the guardians of the realm. Faeth is a ylve from a family of Isolationists. They meet and it’s not a good first impression. Thankfully they get another chance and it’s a fast connection. She’s kidnapped and Lobo doesn’t stop until she’s back where she belongs. Sweet story quick read but a great read!!
This is Lobo and Faeth's story. Lobo is a Firebrand warrior and a wolf shifter and Faeth is a ylve. He first meets her when she takes a walk in the woods and gets lost and he mistakes her for a drug dealer the Firebrands are tracking. Shortly thereafter they realize they may be something much more to each other only Faeth's parents are Isolationists who don't believe in mixed breed couples. To them only purebred s were acceptable. Will the Isolationists keep them apart or will Lobo be able to save Faeth before something keeps them apart forever?

If you've read the others in this series you'll know what to expect. Short and sweet as always, great characters, great spice, and a great story. I haven't met one of these that I haven't liked!
This is such a fun author to read. The sass, the banter I loved. We have our girl, from jump street you see she's got bite. In a forest lost she stands toe to toe with a beast Fam... it's a crap shoot whether you get one loving or not. This story gives you a split decision. Our guy l, player and never fails to charm... until he does. Pretty quick read, enjoyed it and was done in one sitting. A bit of insta happening, a mix of danger a lot of sweet and some good heat. Enjoy
This book has it all!! There is Instalove and lust, as well as action and mystery, and then of course there is the HEA!! These 2 characters were made for each other, they are both full of passion and love for one another, and cherish each moment they get in each other's arms. Then you add in their baby and life is bound to be amazing!!
