The second book in The Projects series is a riveting and sexy shifter read. While stranded, Emmi meets Cole and there is no denying the instant lust, but the odds are stacked against them. Will the mating bond deliver or will it spell the end of an ancient bloodline? This fast paced and smooth flowing plot keeps readers on their toes with lots of suspense, drama and passion. The author describes the scenes with well written details that capture the imagination and draws the reader deeper into the story. The characters are strong, compelling, easily related to and grab the reader’s attention from the very beginning. Tension builds throughout the story as the reader eagerly awaits the final outcome of this relationship. The instant attraction between Emmi and Cole radiates extreme heat from every page and the frequent sex scenes including rimming, spanking, and anal sex. The sex explodes from the pages in a fiery inferno of passion. The odds are stacked against the relationship however due to some important obstacles: they live on different continents, they have nothing in common and then to top it off they have some objections from some unsuspecting parties. The reader gets totally caught up in their story and can empathize with both sides and Emmi captures the heart with her shy insecurities. The author has created a fantastic world of shifters with some very intriguing elements and captivating characters. This story had a couple of twists thrown in that really take the reader by surprise and I found the story to be enjoyable and entertaining and although I felt it was a little short, the author managed to pack a lot content is a little package and I really enjoyed the ending with very exciting climax.

Emmi is an animal conservationist from England on a bus tour in the US that detoured through the wrong town. She managed to miss getting back on the bus and is stranded in this strange town. Emmi is then rescued by Cole in a bar where she tried to drowned her sorrows. Emmi is a strong woman who reactions to Cole and the world of shifters is realistic. Cole is a bear shifter who was born into the shifter world. At the beginning of the book is very mysterious and does not reveal much until the end. Cole is a hot and sexy shifter who has looked forever for his mate but manages to meet her at the worst time. Cole is trying to clean up the town Emmi stumbled into. The chemistry between Cole and Emmi is blistering. The sex scenes were scorching. Emmi and Cole would not have had half of the issue they did if they communicated with each other. Cole was so set of Emmi being his mate he did not really take the time in the beginning to get to know her. Its no wonder she ran. The Bear Project is the second book in The Projects series by Dories O’Connor. While this book is part of a series, it can be read and enjoyed as a standalone novel. I found this book very well written. The main and secondary characters were interesting and realistic. The characters seemed to leap off the page and they also had genuine reactions as well. Overall, this was a great book and I can’t wait to read more from this series.

This book was a great paranormal romance. It a little bit of everything to keep me interested in the story from beginning to end. The book kicks off when Emmi gets stranded in a shifter town and ends up being rescued by a sexy grizzly shifter who just happens to be her mate. Things heat up rather quickly for these two and Cole ends up claiming Emmi in the heat of the moment, so to speak. Then morning came and the second guessing reservations set in for them both. Cole is keeping some big secrets, and this leads to misconceptions that jeopardize the mating bond. Alas, Emmi ends up running back home, only to find out their one night of trysting has lasting consequences. I liked a lot of things about this book. The plot was really good. It had plenty of surprise twists that kept me guessing about things. It was so well developed that it took me a while to realize that the book was actually part of an already ongoing series. The author did her job well, and it wasn’t hard to catch upat all. More to the point, the story was so well laid out that I didn’t feel like I had to catch up on anything, though I will be reading the book that I’ve missed as soon as possible. The characters were wonderful to read about. Cole was the perfect shifter hero, strong, sexy and possessive of his mate. I liked Emmi, though I felt that she accepted the shifter thing rather easily. The author thrilled me with the wonderfully descriptive love scenes and the graphic dialogue. She threw in plenty of naughty fun that included anal play, spanking and some light bondage. Lastly, the writing itself was excellent. All of these things combined to make this book a joy to read. I enjoyed this book immensely. I recommend it to anyone who enjoys sexy shifter books.

This is one of those hidden gems that comes out of nowhere and surprises you with how good it is. First off, some adjectives I would use to describe The Bear Project: INTENSE, scorching, obsessive, angsty, erotic. I had some conflicting emotions with this one. I almost felt guilty for enjoying it as much as I did, seeing as Cole is completely and overwhelmingly obsessed with Emmi from the very beginning and after their separation it only magnifies. It is magnified to the point where you ask yourself: If this was a real person, wouldn’t I be on the phone calling the cops to get a restraining order? I LOVE how the author mentions that in the book too. The author has totally mastered the line between alpha, possessive, macho hero. Despite my mixed feelings about Cole, in the end, I still loved the book because it was so dang good I couldn’t put this book down, didn’t skip one page out of disinterest, I had the characters and the story in my mind for days after finishing, and felt a variety of different emotions. In my opinion, that is the sign of a great book. Cole and Emmi together were so good together and I just rooted for them to get it right. I think it’s definitely worth your time and the price. I was expecting it to be a good book, but I had no idea it would be an incredible book that I couldn’t put down. This isn’t the first book I’ve read by the author and it certainly won’t be the last! Highly recommend!!

Yes, Emmi Layne, animal conservationist, took this tour in America with the hopes of seeing bears, but this is ridiculous. No way would she have ever imagined getting left behind by the tour bus, meeting a man she’s incredibly drawn to but who she doesn’t know and who is not the type of man she’s usually attracted to. He’s course, rough, and definitely a bad boy, but boy does he smell good. Plus there’s the little issue that he somehow turns into a bear. Despite all of that, they share an incredibly hot evening of sex but Emmi knows there’s no future and heads back home. When she finds out that their one night of chemistry has left her with more than memories, she’s not really sure what can be done since she doesn’t even know Cole’s full name let alone how to get in touch with him. Clearly, she’s never met a bear who’s intent on getting his mate back. But when all the secrets come out in the open, will there be a future for them? This was a really fun book to read. In the best ways, it’s your standard shifter story with all of my favorite parts. It has a wonderful alpha male, incredible sexual chemistry between Cole and Emmi and hot, hot sex scenes. Not to mention the mate-at-first-smell but how to tell the human dilemma, that in this case, provides some fun scenes. But it also has some great twists and turns that are all its own and totally enjoyable. Even the side characters are fun to read and intriguing. In fact, this is the second book in The Projects series and while it can easily be read alone, there were little glimpses of the characters from the first book that just makes me want to go back and read that book too.

If you like shifter stories then this is a great one. Cole is a bear shifter and Emmi is a human they meet in an usual way and forces beyond their control change both their lives forever. Fast paced book, but the plot has surprising twist and turns made up with great characters whom you instantly fall in love with! This is book 2 of the series so if you haven't yet, check The Orgasm Project out as well.

This book was packed with action, suspense and some really HOT sex scenes!! Cole and Emmi were definitely true mates! I'm glad that Emmi had Maria for a friend and was able to help her out. This was such a good story with so much going on I don't want to give it away except to say you need to read this book!
