His dark golden skin and long russet-brown hair, deepset amber eyes, and full lips would have made him the center of attention even if he wasn’t the supreme authority on the planet.

Serrin closed his eyes as Bedur plunged his tongue into his mouth.

Ever since he made the choice to let his machine side dissolve and become a full human, he had become Bedur’s obsession. The ruler had given him a high position in his royal court. As chief of security, Serrin had full access to the inner workings of the court and governing council as well as Bedur’s ear whenever he needed it.

Bedur was demanding, as one would expect of a planetary ruler. Yet he held back when he sensed that Serrin was annoyed or felt too imposed on. It was part of their odd relationship dynamic. One would expect Bedur to dictate terms and Serrin as his subject to knuckle under, but it wasn’t that way.

Serrin was the only one who knew that Bedur had a submissive nature hidden beneath the commanding persona he showed everyone else. It came out in bed and even in the way Bedur would approach him for sex.

He was hardly Bedur’s only sex partner—the ruler was known to bed men and women and sometimes both at the same time. But Serrin knew Bedur treated him differently.

Bedur broke the kiss and hovered over him. He looked anxious. “You know … what I want.”

Serrin gazed into his deep amber eyes. “Yes.” He flipped Bedur over onto his back, then reached under the mattress for the cuffs that were kept there. He fastened Bedur’s wrists to the metal bar, feeling the ruler’s unblinking stare watching his every move. He was breathing fast and heavy. Serrin knew he both craved and feared what was coming next.

The belt was kept in the nightstand drawer. Serrin retrieved it and approached Bedur, who kept his eyes on him.

First, the warm up. He doubled the belt and lightly flicked it on Bedur’s arms, flanks and thighs. Bedur squirmed and jerked his body, but didn’t move away.

Serrin expertly kept him in a state of arousal, his skin darkening slightly where the belt hit. Next time the blindfold. It was more exciting when you didn’t know where you’d be struck or when. He’d been thinking Bedur would benefit from the extra spiciness a blindfold would provide, but maybe his need for control would make him reject the idea.

Bedur might let Serrin dominate in the bedroom, but he was still the ruler. Serrin still had to tread carefully.

He needed this time to regain his own arousal. When he first became human he was surprised at how much recovery time he needed before the next round. SDS hybrids could go all night and pure SDS robots even longer.

Fortunately, he felt his cock begin to swell. As much as he was conflicted about Bedur, his body never failed to react to him.

Interesting Story

Secret Lover is the fourth book in the SDS Robots Series. Sad to say I came in possibly at the end of the series. I chose this book out of curiosity. I've heard of the author before, so I decided to try their book. It is an interesting albeit short read. I will definitely look for the rest if the series and start all over.
