“You’re cold.” His gaze met hers.

 

Slowly, she shook her head. Cold? Not hardly. No, she was very, very hot.  

 

Green bled to gold again as his beast nudged a little closer to the surface. When the door began to open, Garren snarled and slammed it shut. Whoever was on the other side was determined though and tried to push it open again. Garren let loose with a roar that shook the walls.

 

Not a tiger. Definitely not a tiger. No, the man melting her bones, drenching her panties and sending her system into a tailspin was the king of the jungle. She heard a whimper on the other side of the door and realized it must have been Sean trying to enter. He might be the alpha’s son, but even he had enough sense to be scared of the big kitty.

 

Garren turned to face her, his golden gaze pulsing with energy. Wrapping his hands around her waist, he tugged her closer and buried his face in her neck. He began rubbing his cheek along her skin, his whiskers rasping against her. Down her neck, across the top of her breast and down her arm. She burrowed her fingers in his thick hair, letting her fingers sift through the silken strands. Closely cropped on the sides and back, there was still enough on top for her to get a decent grip. He nipped her hip as a purr rumbled out of him.

 

“Garren, what are you doing?” Was that her voice? All soft and breathy?

 

“Making sure everyone knows you’re under my protection.” His voice was more of a growl than that of a human.

 

“And do you, uh, do this often?”

 

His tongue had partially shifted with him and the sandpaper texture rasped along her stomach before he moved to her other side, rubbing and nipping his way to her neck. Pressing his fangs against her throat, he scraped them against the delicate flesh there. He was flirting with danger. It wouldn’t take much. Just one bite would tie them together for eternity. Surely he didn’t want that!

 

“Garren?”

 

“Do you know how good you smell? How wonderful you taste?” He purred.

 

“You don’t want this, Garren. You know you don’t. You have to fight your cat.”

 

He nuzzled her neck some more. “Don’t wanna.”

 

She shoved against him, not that his big, bad self budged an inch. “You don’t want to mate me, Garren. Think about what you’re doing. Get control of your beast!”

 

She felt his teeth against her throat again and tried to shove him away once more. “Garren, listen to me! You don’t want to mate me.”

 

He growled. “You don’t want me? You would prefer Dagan?”

 

His insecurity was a little cute. “No, I don’t want Dagan. And it isn’t that I don’t want you, it’s just… you don’t know me. We only met today, and I was unconscious for most of the time. Besides, you deserve better.”

 

Garren grunted and began licking the skin where her neck met her shoulder. “Better than my mate?”

 

She curled her hands against him. “What makes you think I’m your mate? What makes me different from the countless women you’ve no doubt fucked?”

 

“No one smells like you. Even before your shower I knew who you were, but now that you’re all nice and clean…” He purred. “I would very much like to get you dirty.”

Isi is the odd woman out in her pack. When she never shifted she became ostracized from her pack. When she is kidnapped she knows that no one will come for her and accepts death as her fate. But then Garren barges in to rescue her. A team leader and Ex-Seal, he saves her life and knows that she is much more than just a rescue. With a traitor in their midst, will they live happily ever after? Personal Thoughts: I am in love with Jessica Coulter Smith's writing style. I have loved her from the very beginning and haven't read a book by her that I have not liked. This book is no exception. Filled with love, action, sex, and shifters, this book is for any and all. I really got pulled into the story and both Isi and Garren are well written characters and seriously hot together. I felt for both characters and loved their stories and the way they came together to ensure that they'll have a happily ever after. I cannot wait for the second in the series to come out. I highly recommend this for those who love Smith's earlier books, for those who love shifters, or for those who want a hot read!

Refusing to quit until Isi is safe, Garren Douglas and his team will have to take down a corrupt pack before they can strike again in this thrilling paranormal romance. Isolde Mayhew has always been ostracized by her pack but someone has went too far and she's knows she is going to die. The reader can't help but get excited as Garren and his team of ex-SEALs rescue her and he realizes his mission is more important than he thought. The chemistry between Garren and Isi is rockin' and the sex scenes are smokin' but Isi has a few emotional issues that have her holding back. The characters are strong, charismatic and grab the reader's attention. The fast paced, smooth flowing plot keeps the adrenaline pumping as tensions escalate when Garren and Isi realizes that just how deep the treachery goes in her pack. Well written scenes and detail capture the imagination while the suspense, excitement and romance draw the readers in and refuse to let go. The author has created a passionate and exciting series with some sexy SEALs that gets the heart pounding and I was completely caught up in Isi's story and very taken with her situation (I wanted to wrap her up and keep her safe too). Let me say that Garren's roar just hit me in all the right places too! Oh HELL YEAH FOR SEAL TEAM 7!!!

I love this book, and cannot wait for the other team mates to find their mates as well. This book was a great read, loved all the characters as they came together to help one of their own. It was an awesome shifter romance. Cant wait for the next book.

Captivating ! Amazing from front to finish!

I really like all of this author's books but this new series is amazing ! I like that the shifters are ex-SEALS and have banded together to do rescues and I love this first story of Garren and him finding his mate. I hope she does a story for each team member! It captivated and interested me from the first paragraph to the last !!! Keep them coming please !!!
