Even though I am happier than I have been in years things are never simple. My mate is not what she seems and will not simply fall at my feet. This may be the hardest I have ever had to fight for anything.

 

Excerpt:

I wasn’t expecting any of the things he would do. One moment he is sitting at the table that looks too small with him there, and the next he is kissing the sense out of me. His hand on my hip has a firm grip but he isn’t hurting me.

No, he is awakening feelings I didn’t even know I had. His kiss is deep and brutal, savage, just like the man before me. It’s soul-consuming and I know I will never be the same after this.

Just as quickly as it started, it is over, and I am left trying to remain upright. James is standing against the opposite wall, his hands fisted as he fights his animal for dominance. I see the magic shimmer and his wolf pressing against his skin, but he is able to fight him back, dominating his animal into submission. Barely.

Both of us are breathless, our chests heaving as we stare at each other.

“Don’t for one second think I am going to give you up without a fight, April,” he says lowly, a growl building in his chest. “The only reason I don’t bend you over that table and fuck you senseless is because I know you’ll kick my ass for it. You are my mate and eventually I will claim you. But I will wait until you come to me.”

He doesn’t let me say a word before he strides out of my house, leaving me confused and aroused. A moment later the howl of a wolf rips through the entire compound and I know he has finally given his animal the free reign it has been craving.

I want to follow him but I know he is trying to protect me by keeping his animal at bay until we are fully mated. His animal won’t be as lenient with me if he catches me.

I feel like an utter bitch for everything I said but it’s the truth and I can’t stop the thoughts replaying in my mind. I am too young for him. Add in the fact that we are two different species and it’s clear we don’t belong together.

I just can’t figure out why the Goddess would see fit to give me a mate and then make it impossible for us to be together.

My heart hurts and I rub at the center of my chest. There isn’t anything I wouldn’t give to have James in my life and in my bed. I don’t want to give up on my mate, I just need to figure out how to keep him.

Return of the Alpha is Book 8 of the Katu Wolves series. It's a short and steamy, instalove, OTT, age-gap, opposites-attract, paranormal fated mates, virgin gets her alpha wolf romance. April is a 21 year old shifter who was raised in foster care until she was captured by hunters. Now she resides with the Katu pack, her found family. James is a hunky, 48 year old Alpha wolf who lost his mate years ago and then went feral, only to be captured by hunters. He ends up being freed by the Katu pack and gets a second chance at love. He and April had amazing chemistry, and I loved that James found Payton again. The ending was very happy, too, after some minor angst. I would have loved an epilogue with a glimpse into their future. I loved it!!.

I didn't expect this, but I love this series, so it is good to have all people mated to someone related. In this case I love the age gap and the mix of breeds, and how in tune they are now. I enjoy pretty much the dynamic that this pack has, this make me want to go back a re-read the other books with every new book, lol.

James is rescued when the Katu Wolves raid a hunter's compound. After years of captivity, he is startled to smell his daughter's scent on one of the rescuers. The Luna of the Katu wolves, Peyton, is his daughter. Reuniting with his daughter is special and although he is uneasy with so many alphas living together he is excited to be part of a pack. April has been keeping a secret. She is a panther rather than a wolf. She fears rejection when she realizes James is her mate. She also fears the Katu wolves will no longer accept her once they realize she has been hiding her true identity. This was another good story in the Katu wolves world. I have enjoyed this series and all the characters. I hope there are more books to come.

On a raid the return with James who is the father of the pack Luna and Simeon long believed to be dead. April realizes he is also her fated mate and panics. James and April adjust to being friends and mates quickly and we get a hotter than sin claiming and the sweetest connection.

This entertaining Book 8 in the Katu Wolves Book Series has a wonderful story, a well-constructed world and interesting characters. These characters have unique personalities, detailed histories, and believable interactions. This is a stand-alone book, but it is better if you read them in order. This story has twists, turns, danger, adventure, and a HEA. This is a must read book and series.

I really like the Katu Wolves, and everything they achieve in this community, entirely dominated by women. That's a good thing, although some of them are quite annoying... This story is a good addition to the series, which I want to keep reading!

And how they deal with the secrets and fight for what they want and that they go for a Hea, how and if they will achieve that I will not reveal, just say go read their story and you will find out.

This is the eighth story in the "Katu Wolves" series. It can be enjoyed as a stand alone read, but I would highly recommend reading them in order. There are connected characters and a connected protagonist. I would especially read the story before this one. It is titled "A Rescued Mate", focuses on Nico and Emmaleigh and kind of ends on a cliffhanger. This one picks up where that one stops. The story is about James who has been discovered living in one of the hunter's cages. There is more and a connection that follows. James, was an alpha, until he lost is mate. With a broken heart he went into his wolf form and ran for the woods, leaving his pack and daughter behind. James is trying to process everything that he discovers after his rescue. What he does not expect is to find he has been gifted a mate, April. She has her own secrets too. I love how the whole pack and the characters. This is a fairly short and quick read with some steam. It develops nicely with some angst, drama, some daddy/little girl talk and a bit more.

I really liked this book until they were having naughty times and decided to go with Daddy and little girl. I do not like that phrasing in my own life so it turned me off the book. As for the sweet romance and nervous feelings throughout the book all else was well written and worth the read!!

Liked the interaction between males and females in pack, females control their lives and give their opinions. The males let it go and smile. It's a quick read with a few twists and twins. Very entertaining plus a couple chuckles.

Grieving from his mate's death, his daughter looking so much like her mother (his mate), Alpha James feels his only option is to leave the pack- alone. He is rescued (he was captured and held in a cage), the wolves that he returns with belong to a pack that allows "strays" and is surprised to find his daughter is now grown and married to this pack's Alpha. There are a lot of questions answered and a new love for James. This is an emotional journey. The Katu series is so fun to read, even when you're tearing up. Can't wait for more of this series.

I love every minute of reading this book it is amazing and oh so addicting --- this book has it ALL. It will keep you hooked until the end. You will not be bored reading it even for a minute. The way the author catches you off guard with the twists and turns are amazing. This story will leave you wanting more from the author and you will not be able to put this book down!! It is definitely on my re-read list.

The Return of the Alpha was such an amazing second chance with a new mate shifter romance. I couldn’t put this book down!!! I loved the storyline it was original and page turning. I loved both main characters they were complex and had a very complex chemistry. This series is amazing and addicting to read. James was intense, very much an aloha. I loved his grovel and determination to get what he wanted. April was independent, guarded and loyal to her pack. Their chemistry was intense. I loved the angst and stubbornness they both had throughout their story. I so can’t wait to see what comes next for the Katu Pack!!!

An enjoyable, quick, shifter romance

Short, steamy, age-gap, shifter romance with a secret point of difference to usual - I really, really loved the ending. I have read a couple of the previous books in the series, but not all of them, I could still follow along well and could easily be read as a standalone, however the characters from previous books do make appearances, as well as a bit of an overarching storyline (though what you need to know is explained in the book).

Return of the Alpha is beautifully written and the storyline is executed perfectly. Return of the Alpha is the eighth installment of the Katu Wolves series. Return of the Alpha is the wonderful tale of April and James. April is a phenomenal character and someone who can be relatable to. James, I found him to be the typical alpha male wolf. I won’t divulge any details about this book because I don’t want to ruin the book for future readers. I would definitely recommend this book to anyone who enjoys a well-written wolf shifter romance story.

What happens when you lose your mate? What happens when you can't look at your daughter? What happens whe he goes rogue and gets captured? When he gets freed will he beable to handle life? Will he accept who his daughter is married too? What about the women April, can he have her at her young age or will she fight him all the way?

Alpha James is grieving his mate’s death and since his daughter, Peyton, looked so much like her mother, he couldn’t deal. So he left her with the pack and with someone he trusted and turned wolf. He lived like this for years until he was caught in a trap and held, because they knew what he was. Then one day, after ten years of living in a cage, he is saved. Emmaleigh’s pack have been tracking and freeing captured shifters. James is shocked that her pack allows “strays.” There are a bunch of reveals and revelations in the book. I really enjoyed the reunion, finding out about their pasts and how he fell in love with his new mate, April. I found myself sniffling a few times and chewing on my lip as I read. I found April to be sweet and kind and an all around good person. I really enjoyed the story and can’t wait to read the next one. I also have to figure out which of the series I’m missing. lol. I hate that.

Really sweet characters. Fun kind of story no danger. I loved that she thought no one knew her Secret it was hilarious. The MMC had to catch up with how relationships have changed from what he knew. Sex was moderately described and very passionate . hea was very nice, sweet and rather different, really enjoyed it.

James is rescued after being held by the hunters for 10 years. Not only is he rescued but he is reunited with his daughter Peyton. I must say I absolutely love Peyton she's a strong female who stands up for her pack even when it comes to her dad. April another pack member realizes that James is her mate but she fears she's going to be rejected. Because she is not what she seems. I really enjoyed this book and the ending I thought was just amazing.

Return of the Alpha is a great entry in Marshall’s Katu Wolves series. It builds directly from previous books in that it deals with shifter wolves who’ve been rescued from hunters—but it doesn’t dwell on that. And that’s because the hero James has many more issues than captivity. He lost a mate and lost himself for a long time, living as a rogue wolf, and almost always in wolf form. So when he was captured, he lost his pack—and his daughter. These books are short novellas, so there’s a bit of convenience in who James meets when he is rescued, including his fated mate. But I liked that there were hidden depths to April’s character, which provide challenges not only to James but to those they’re living with. This is an age-gap romance as well, which is lightly touched on in the story and helps fuel its sensual moments. Return of the Alpha is a winning addition to the Katu Wolves books.

I love a good paranormal novel! I have read the other novels in this series and enjoyed them. This novel did not disappoint. Although it would be easy to read this novel without reading the previous novels. From the first chapter this novel pulled me in and captured my attention. So good! I loved James and April's story. Their chemistry was so good. Once I started reading I didn't want to put this novel down. I needed to know what was coming next. I can't wait to see what this author has coming next.

Older alpha finds his second chance mate. I loved the fact that this older alpha who has been kept away from his pack returns to find his daughter and the other kick butt women surviving in an unusual pack life dynamic with their mates. This was a well-written, but short and spicy PNR novella that I enjoyed very much.

This was an engaging addition to the series and I love that another couple got their HEA. We meet James, a former alpha and Peyton's father, as he gets rescued by the hunters. He is shocked when he finds the fates have gifted him with a second mate (his first mate died) but April's half his age... With secrets and trauma, as well as their age gap, to sort through, these two have an emotional journey as they learn to accept and trust each other. This was a one-sit read for me and I look forward to the next book :D

Second chance love is sometimes the best--The story was a bit romantic and not at all like the OTT Alpha that you sometimes see in shifter/fated mate stories. Just a really good story for this series.

What I liked most was the inclusiveness of the pack. No one was turned away (unless there was a valid reason) and everyone was welcome - no matter their status or where they came from. I have not read any of the other stories in this series, but I had no troubles following along.

Return of the Alpha is the eighth book in the Katu Wolves series. It picks up where the last book ended, and now we know who the daughter is, which James asked Talon about. We find that the hunters are not the only bad thing in the woods and that the Katu Pack is genuinely extraordinary and growing. With drama, steamy romance, an unlikely mating, a couple of twists, humor, and more, Return of the Alpha is an entertaining, easy read. I look forward to reading the next book in the series.

Part of the Katu Wolves series each can be read as a standalone I have waited for this one to come out for a while picking up where book seven left off you don’t have to read the series, but they all connect through each pack member saved. James is the alpha and the father of Payton whom we met she is the Luna of the Katu pack, but he was held tortured by the hunters now rescued but when saved he smells his daughter on his savior when taken back to the pack he is even more surprised to find that his pack no longer exist the man he left in charge of his pack turned out to be psycho you see he left after the death of his mate his daughter’s mother thinking he needed some alone time but the more time he spent out there alone in his animal the harder it was to come back then he was captured by the hunters for years and now back in a pack where the moon goddess have given him a second chance mate half his age and a little different so how will things work, will she accept him as her mate, will he accept him as her mate, will his daughter accept her as her father’s mate, will she get put out of the pack, will the pack continue to accept her, will they put a stop to the hunters, will they allow their age difference get in the way, and can they find happiness despite all they have been through?
