It has been five hundred years since the last female dragon was seen. Now, the females of this realm are only there to fulfill the wishes of the Alphas.
I have been raised by a man who does not care for any woman, not even his daughter. And though I prayed to be spared from the Annual Hunt, I ended up in the forest, hurt and fearing for my life.
The hunt is supposed to be filled with omega tributes but none of the omegas are here of their own free will. The scent of fear taints the air as we all pray to survive this horrible night.
What I never expected was to find a dragon bowing to me. Or what happens after.

Excerpt:
The Alpha is advancing on me, forcing me to retreat until my back hits the rough bark of a massive tree. I can see the lust in his dark gaze, and I know he will take what he wants from me. He will easily overpower me with his larger size and there isn’t a damn thing I can do about it.
“Don’t fight me, female. I don’t want to hurt you.”
“Liar,” I hiss. “You would love nothing more than to hurt me.”
The dark smile that graces his face has pure, unfiltered fear roaring through me. This man means to cause more than harm, he wants to decimate me, perhaps even kill me. No one will even know where to look for my body, not that there is anyone left to care. I know I need to run but I also know I will never be able to get away from him, not with my injuries.
As I stare at him, I see a stunning green and gold dragon emerge from between the trees. I watch as his massive form moves closer to the Alpha before he grabs him from behind and rips him in two, separating his torso from his lower half. Blood sprays everywhere, coating me in the warm crimson liquid. A strange sort of calm settles over me as I stare up at the gigantic beast before me, his golden gaze searing and locking me in place.
My heartbeat calms back to normal as he breathes smoke through his nostrils, his imposing form looming over me. I feel inexplicably drawn to him, wanting to touch this magnificent beast. Never have I felt the need to be close to any Alpha or a damn dragon, but now I must fight the urge to approach this stranger.
“Who are you?” I ask, my voice nothing but a whisper.
He doesn’t reply and doesn’t shift to his human form. All he does is stare. For long moments neither of us do anything until the enormous beast bows before me. I don’t understand what is happening, nothing makes sense.
I’ve never heard of an Alpha bowing to a female, much less in his dragon form. I must be delirious. My father strangled me, and between the lack of oxygen and my injury, I must be imagining things.
I watch as the magic shimmers over his form, his dragon flickering in and out of reality before my eyes as he shifts back to his human form. Before me now stands a man I have seen before. He is one of the richest and most powerful Alpha Nobles of this generation.
Liam Virago.
He is beautiful in his Alpha power. Dark hair that hangs below his shoulder blades, a muscular frame with broad shoulders and thick thighs, and tattoos that pepper his arms and torso. He is as naked as the day he was born, and I cannot help but let my gaze take in his entire physique, including the impressive erection straining in my direction from between his muscular thighs.
“What are you?” he asks, his deep voice curling around my insides and squeezing.
“I’m Seline,” I reply.
“Not who, female. What?”
“I … I don’t understand the question,” I stammer. I can’t seem to form a cohesive sentence with him glaring at me.
“I could smell you for miles. You have bewitched my dragon.”
I shake my head as he strides up to me, my back pressed harder against the rough bark of the tree behind me. I stare up into his dark gaze waiting for him to say or do something.
“I don’t know what you want me to say.”
“Not a fucking word. I want you to do what females are made for—submit, and spread your thighs,” he replies, sending fear running through my system once more while arousal simmers in the background.
I grabbed this because the blurb seemed interesting and it was something I haven't read in awhile-dragon shifters. Not knowing what to expect, I am glad I grabbed it. Its a fairly quick read with an interesting world and characters. I think this world is one that longer books would be welcome by many readers. Well done.
This story was great, I loved how they met but be warned that it isn’t 100% consensual. The story is great with exposing a dark secret in this society that has almost been holding them hostage from hundreds of years until this couple gets together.

Seline is an 18 year old girl who is live with her life with her abusive Dragon shifter father. There is not been any female dragons in a very long time. After her father attacks her he leaves her unconscious in the woods to take part in the tribute. Liam is excited for the tribute. All he wants to do is hunt the female down slake his pleasure and go about his life. There is not been any fated mates and over a thousand years so imagine his surprise when he meets his.
Seline is the daughter of a dragon shifter Alpha, one of the elites. Every year, ten elite Dragon Alphas are chosen for the annual hunt. Women are in the forest and they are then taken by them. These tributes are not supposed to be virgins or forced into it. However, a lot of the Alphas don’t treat females well because they are used for breeding and they aren’t dragons. Fated Mates are now a myth. So, now that Seline is an adult of 18, her abusive father wants her to be a tribute. When she says no, he abuses her and leaves her in the forest. A lot of the things that happen at the beginning of the book is upsetting. One of the Alpha nobles is Liam, who is 30. During the hunt, he finds Selene because her scent drew him to her. There is a huge reason for that. Finding out that she was hurt by her own father and that she didn’t want to be a tribute made Liam livid. That part of the book was soooo awesome. They are soooo steamy together- Liam and Seline. I found the laws of the dragons to be fascinating and how Liam handles her father is great. I spent a while chortling in glee over it. lol. There are a bunch of surprises and reveals and revelations in the book. I can’t wait to see what happens next!
loved it !! a great start for a new series !! love Seline and Liam...this is their short story... a fast paced drama... the hunt... the tribute... the volunteers... NOT ! the omegas and the alphas...Seline is forced to go after she is beaten and left unconscious by her father... Liam and the alphas are so excited for a fun night not realizing the omegas are forced to be there... he smells flowers and follows it.. and finds Seline trying to fend off an alpha.. he can smell her fear... this is their meet/cute... so good !!!
For this one to be a short story it definitely has everything that you need to be an amazing action packed adventure. Liam is definitely not looking to settle down until he sees Seline.
This is a short, cute read. This is Liam and Seline’s story. Seline’s father hates women including his daughter, but what happens when he hurts her and puts her into the annual hunt. What will Seline do when she finds out what he did and now the Alpha’s are hunting. Can she get away? What will happen when Liam sees her and hears her story? Can she survive and will Liam help her?
Amazing story and characters. I was hooked from the beginning. The characters are great together.
Seline is burned and dumped into the forest for the Tribute Hunt. As the Alpha waits to get their tribute, one dragon (Liam Virago) smells something he's never smelt before: a lily sent. His dragon goes wild. He must find her. There is one word that his dragon says, Mine. He has found his mate—the first mate in hundreds of years. But there is more. Seline is special Liam's dragon has already mated her and bit her neck. Will Seline show why she is so special? Great adventure and love story. I enjoyed the book.
I like it just wasn't one of my favorite from this all that doesn't mean I want stop reading her but I did this one a four-star
Not a Tribute is the first story in the Tales of the Dreggageggon which I thought to be fabulously suspenseful and definite page-turner of a paranormal romance book. I thoroughly enjoyed reading this fascinating paranormal romance which I thought to be well-written, fabulously balanced, and perfectly executed by Author Jade Marshall. Not a Tribute follows the intricate journey of Seline and Liam who are absolutely amazing characters. I immediately fell in love with Seline and Liam and their fabulous story. I was slightly sadden when Seline and Liam came to an end because I wanted to see more of these two fabulous characters. I love that Seline and Liam have a happily ever after with them being mated and expecting a little one. Not a Tribute is definitely a paranormal romance book I would give as a recommendation for anyone whose looking for a fun book to read in one sitting. I’m looking forward to reading more amazing books by Author Jade Marshall.

Intense story with lots of action.Seline and Liam's story is short but packed full of danger, parental abuse and neglect, lies and love.
Seline is being forced by her father to be a part of the hunt she didn’t realise how much her father hated her until now she slaps him and he attacks her and when Seline wakes she is in the forest and now the hunt has begun and she is terrified. Fantastic story I would of liked this story to be a bit longer but I was happy with the story and I recommend reading this book.
This is an entertaining paranormal dark romance short story book that holds your attention captive from beginning to end. The storyline is intriguing and dramatic as the elements unfold. The characters are interesting with strong chemistry together. I enjoyed this book.

I read this book in one go, it is a shortish read, but packed full of action and fast paced. Seline and Liam’s story is on the darker side, it has danger, secrets, surprises, strong characters, steam and dragon shifters. It had an interesting storyline with a couple of unique elements that I hadn't read before which is always enjoyable. Looking forward to more in the series.
Seline's father is a high-ranking alpha dragon with little regard for her or any female. He has decided that Seline will participate in the annual tribute hunt. When Seline protests he physically harms her and leaves her unconscious body in the forest. Liam was one of the ten alphas selected to participate in this tribute. He is excited for a wild night of fun and then plans to walk away from the female he finds pleasure with. At the start of the hunt, he is intrigued by the scent of burnt Lillies and follows the smell deep into the forest. There he finds Seline backed up against a tree and trying to get away from one of the other alphas. Liam intervenes when he senses how frightened Seline is and ends up killing the alpha. There are a lot of twists to this short little story and overall it was a good read and has the making of a great new series.
This story transports you into another world with Dragons, fated mates, Alpha hunts, omegas and more. This wild adventure follows Seline and Liam who are fated mates that find each other in the annual Alpha hunt. Seline is forced to participate and Liam is the overprotective and possessive Alpha we were hoping for. This may not be what they planned or intended, but fate stepped in and made these two cross each other’s path for a reason. This book was steamy, interesting, adventurous, action packed and a thrill to read. Very well done and I look forward to more.
The first story in the Tales of the Dreggageggon a good start to this series. Liam and Seline's short story has a very good storyline that held my interest with its twists, turns, drama, suspense, steam, surprises and romance. I found the story to be well worth reading.
It has been centuries since there has been a female dragon which makes fated mates rare. Seline knew her father did not care for women but she did not think she was included. He leaves her in the forest for the Annual Alpha Hunt. The participants are supposed to there of their free will. Liam is excited for his first hunt, something enticing calls to him. He discovers his fated mate, something no dragon expects to find. When he learns what she was subjected to he will not stop the retribution. This is a fast paced story as everything unfolds.
Started this spicy ?️ ,short story and could not stop till I was finished!! Jade never disappoints. We start with an argument between Seline and her father over the annual hunt, after which he leaves her alone in the forest to fend off the alpha’s. If that’s not love. What a douche! While on the other side we have Liam, who’s eagerly awaiting the hunt, is blissfully unaware that the women do not volunteer as tributes. His first hunt at 30 years old, is just a way to sow some oats, not to have a woman tied to him for life! Until his dragon bows to Seline. Fated mates are just fairy tales, aren’t they? Crazy smexy times follow, as well as piles of drama! Liam and Seline were great!

This is a creative story with some really good world building. It is the first in the "Tales of the Dreggageggon" series but can be enjoyed as a stand alone read. The story is about Selina and Liam. They live in a world of alpha shifter dragons where fated mates and shifter female dragons have become a fairytale. During the annual hunt, alpha noble dragons' let lose and take advantage of the females who have freely offered themselves up as tributes. Selina is brutally forced into the annual hunt by her horrible father. Something very intriguing and interesting happens. I enjoyed every bit of this story and love the main characters! The story has intrigue, action, suspense, danger, passion and much, much more.
When the two main characters crossed paths, it was as if the cosmos had conspired to bring them together. He discovered his destined soulmate, a rare female dragon In turn, she uncovered not just a protector but the promise of a loving family . As fate would have it, a surge of good fortune washed over them when their adversaries met their downfall, leaving a sense of hope and new beginnings in their wake.
In a world of downtrodden women where only men are dragons, a motherless girl with a nasty father gets to change the entire culture. I loved these characters and I loved the story. It was so easy to get wrapped up in this fated mates, super sexy adventure. I am ready for more books in this world, but I feel like this was a complete book by itself. Highly recommend this one!

This is an action-packed, intense book. Be aware of the trigger warnings. They may be relevant to you. That being said, I love this book. Liam is an alpha dragon shifter invited to participate in the tribute hunt. Seline is forced to be in the hunt as a tribute. There are plot twists that make this a great book. It is also quite spicy!
I wasn't sure I would like Liam in the beginning due to his attitude about women. He looked at the annual hunt as just a way to get laid. He isn't interested in a forever woman. Fate has another plan for him since Seline is his mate. Once he realizes what she is to him, he is very protective of her and is ready to avenge her. Seline is a stubborn woman, she is abused by her father, but she isn't cowed by him.
This is a solid start to a new series. Fated Mates, treachery, dragons what more could you want. The characters are strong and the storyline flows well. Liam and Seline make you root for their relationship.

Not a Tribute is a steamy dragon shifter romance that hits on several interesting themes in a short story. The main characters, Liam and Seline, possess a fiery sense of character, integrity, and devotion that you can't help but like them. The storyline has drama, shifter action, a couple of twists and surprises, and very steamy moments between Liam and Seline that keep you reading.
This story moved fast! It was full of action, intrigue and some steam. Being that it was a short story, it still packed a punch! I would like to read a more involved version of this story to fill out the characters, environment and plot, or maybe we will see more in Book 2. I hope so!

All I can say is that Jade Marshall is always writing stories that have me present and turning pages faster than I thought possible. This book had me praying for Seline and then cheering for her. I absolutely loved it from the first page.
This was an exciting series opener and despite it's shorter length, did not skimp on world building or character development. Liam and Seline were fated mates but how they came together was shocking for both...as was Liam's dragon's bow to her when they first met. Women are not looked on as equals and initially, I was not a fan of Liam's ;) However, as truths came out, he redeemed himself and supported Seline so well. Expect a fast paced story filled with betrayal, parental abuse, intrigue, drama, danger and hot romance as they work their way to a wonderful HEA. I'm definitely looking forward to the next book. Good fun!
I really enjoyed the book. I have always liked the hunter, prey, omega style of books. It was a good length as well. I wonder how the author is going to continue this series while endeavouring to keep the stories unique from all other dragon shifter books. I look forward to finding out with the next book in the series.
Such a cinnamon roll dragon mmc!!!! From the second they meet Liam knows Seline is his and he protects her instantly. The twists are sort of predictable but done really well. I love how Seline becomes stronger as she finds herself and Liam is so supportive. Good amount of spice without taking away from the plot too much.
Wow,wow, wow. This story takes the reader to a world filled with alpha dragon shifters and women that are considered less. The characters are fantastic and there is drama and intrigue with each page that is turned, and lots of heat!!
The Hunt Is On! She never agreed to join the hunt but her father forced her against her will! Liam was a Dragon Shifter from a strong prominent family with power, he was excited about the hunt but when his Dragon bowed to her, he was shocked. It didn’t stop him from taking her and the shock nearly floored him! Seline was someone who stuck up for herself and if this Dragon shifter thought he could walk all over her, he would be sadly mistaken but just when they realized their destiny, something changed that would rock their worlds. A super hot steamy read with a wonderful storyline with a super wonderful HEA!
Selines father forced her into the hunt, she can hold her own but against a dragon shifter is another thing, especially when Liams dragon bows to her! Well written steamy, hunt desires, shifter romance,
Please tell me this is going to be a series!?!?! Loved it. Absolutely loved both characters. Their chemistry was great, story flowed just fast enough with enough "action".
