Excerpt:
“It’s me,” Casey said. “I am the one you care about.”
Dex stared at her, and he took one step, then another, until he reached out and rested his hand against the side of her head.
She didn’t know what to say or do, she could only look at him. “That’s right, isn’t it?”
“Did you not know?” he asked.
“I … I … no.”
He smiled. “You know, for a clever woman, Casey, you sometimes are a little dumb.”
“Why?” she asked.
“Because you didn’t know it was you I cared about.”
She couldn’t help but smile. “No, not why I’m dumb, but why did you not tell me?” she asked. “Why do you care about me?”
Dex could have any other girl or single woman in the pack. Besides the fact he was handsome and sexy, he was also going to be the next Alpha, and to a lot of women, that was a draw no one could deny.
She didn’t care that he was going to be the next Alpha. When they were little, her parents would always tell her to be nice to Dex. She didn’t have to be told to be nice. Once again, it took her a little time to realize that Dex was the Alpha’s son. She already cared about him by then. He was her best friend and in his way, her savior.
It would seem there were a lot of times when fellow peers from the pack didn’t like her. She had no idea what she did to irritate them, but either way, she was not going to let it bother her. Dex cared for her.
“How could I not care for you?” he asked. “You’re smart—”
“You just called me dumb,” she reminded him.
“You’re smart and dumb at the same time. You do not know what is right under your nose, and you’re … beautiful. Even when people are being assholes to you, you haven’t changed. It has not made you bitter. You don’t think about getting them back. Even after what Buddy did to you, you’re not thinking about hurting him.”
“I can’t change who they are, and I am not going to allow them to change who I am,” she said.
Her mother had always told her it wasn’t about what other people did or how they acted, it was about how it made her feel and behave. She was not going to let any of them get under her skin. The bullying was manageable. Now, she knew it was all because of Dex. He made it work. He stopped the bullies.
“No, you can’t change them, and they haven’t changed who you are. You’re amazing, Casey. I know that, and so does everyone who comes to know you.”
“I’m not special.”
“You are to me, and that is all that matters.”
She looked at him, a little taken aback by his honesty. “I had no idea.”
“And that is what makes you pretty dumb.”
Casey sighed. “So, what do you want?” she asked. “You won. You caught me. What is it you want?”
“This.” He closed the distance between them, and then his lips brushed hers.
She felt that tingle shoot all the way through her body, and it made her melt so hard and so fast. She didn’t know what to do with her hands, and for several seconds she kept them at her sides. Then, she wanted to touch him, to feel his body beneath her hands.
Starting at his waist, she slowly began to slide them up, going toward his chest. She felt how hard he was beneath his clothing. Dex had always been all muscle.
Several of the girls in her class had wanted Dex all to themselves. She’d heard them conspire, trying to gain his attention. Whenever he’d enter a classroom, they’d puff out their chests, wanting him to notice them.
Looking back now, Casey remembered him always finding her and coming to sit right beside her in class. Now, that made a lot of sense to her why some of the other girls hated her guts. Some of the bullying, especially in school, had come from the girls.
She was having a reality check and an epiphany after each one. They hated her because of all the attention she got from Dex. This made so much sense to her.
Kissing him, she loved the feel of his lips on hers, and then, as she wrapped her arms around the back of his neck and pressed her body to his, he felt so good against her. She loved the kiss. It felt like she’d been waiting all her life to feel his lips on hers. And then he pulled away.
“You’re my reward.”
New author for me. Short story about an upcoming alpha and his desire for his mate. Dex is a young man who has always known what he wants. The story is written well and the characters are well fleshed out and believable. The scenery is beautifully written and very welcoming. Read the book and enjoy it for yourself, it’s, worth the read!

Dex is protective of Casey, even though she feels lesser because of her wolf. He was so sweet and caring with her... Great short read!
Casey and Dex’s story was a great addition for this series I found myself completely hooked on these characters and their vested in the bumpy road to love and happiness this was a enjoyable and entertaining read
This books was just lovely. By that I mean the relationship between Dex and Casey. Some of it was not so lovely and poor Casey had to go through a lot but Dex was beside her and always in her corner. Loved that.
Casey and Dex are part of the Arlington Pack. Dex, being the son of Alpha Klaus, is next in line as pack Alpha. He's also always known that Casey is his fated mate. Unfortunately, Casey is unable to shift and this causes her to question herself about almost everything. Dex (and the pack) are aware of her not being able to shift- and Dex could care less. But, will the pack be accepting? This was a great addition to the series and another quick read.
Dex has been aware Casey is his mate since they were kids. When he transitioned he knew it without a doubt. Casey can’t shift and becomes a target but Dex loves her and knows her wolf is in there. I love the trials they face both internal and external. A new twist of shifters and I love this!!
My Mate is a sweet, quick read. This is the second shifter book I’ve read by Sam Crescent. I normally don’t care for shifter genres but I love these books. I love Casey and Dex’s characters. Dex is her protector and won’t let anyone bully her. This is a great book and I love the twist at the end of the book!
I really liked this book about Casey and Dex. I thought that Casey was fun and feisty whilst Dex was devoted to Casey. I loved their chemistry and the fact they would do anything for each other. This is a really enjoyable book.
I was hooked from the first page of this book to the last. The plot is intense in the best ways. Casey is part of a wolf pack, but she cannot shift. It is a mystery to her why she can't. Dex has been her constant protector since he was a small boy, and that has not changed. I love the closeness between Dex and Casey. There are twists in this book that I didn't see coming, and it made it so good. Excellent plot, great spice, and the best HEA!
Casey is a shifter who has never shifted into her wolf. This has caused her a lot of disappointment and stress, especially when the other pack members pick on her and beat her for being different. Her only friend, Dex, stands up for her as her protector. He is the Alpha’s son and he thinks Casey is his mate. He will keep her safe no matter what happens. This was a sweet romance between the two main characters and there was some good suspenseful moments as well.
This is Book 23 of The Alpha Shifter Collection Series I really enjoyed this novella. I loved Dex's character and his love for his mate Casey. The storyline was engaging and kept me intrigued and reading. Loved the characters as well. Can't wait to read the next book in the series.
Dex and Casey's relationship had me swooning. The way he always protected and fought for her even when she didn't know. I loved it. How he was with her from the beginning was swoon worthy. Sam is easily becoming a favorite of mine.
Book twenty three in the series, They are fated mated but she hasn't turned yet. They are cute together and he will do whatever he can to protect her. a wonderful read,
Dex is a sweetheart. He has always known that Casey was going to be his mate. He has always protected Casey from those who would bully or hurt her. He has always known that Casey would be his mate and it didn't matter to him that she hadn't transitioned into her wolf. He is so supportive and loving of Casey. Casey is a sweetheart that is loved by just about everyone.
What a heartwarming addition to the "Alpha Shifter" collection. This is a stand alone read paranormal story with shifter wolves, witches, magic, jealousy and sabotage. The story is about Dex and Casey. Dex is the only child of the alpha of the pack and the next in line to be alpha. He has been in love with Casey since he can remember. He also defends her from the bullies and abuse that has come her way. Casey, part of the pack, has not been able to shift to her wolf. It is like her wolf is not even there. She is struggling with this and some of the pact is not kind to her. She does not want to impact Dex negatively and thinks he deserves someone better by his side. Then their is Lucinda, a witch, who lives on the out skirts of the pact. This is such a good read. The author does a good job with the struggles Casey is going through. Dex is so supportive and loyal. The story does have drama, passion, love, respect, loyalty, suspense, danger, premonitions, visions and much more.
I really admire the main male character! He always believed that she was his true mate and stayed so faithful and committed to her. The story was filled with exciting twists and turns, and I loved how it showed that the future is always uncertain. And the villain? She surprised me completely, just popping up out of nowhere!
Dex Arlington is the son of the Alpha, Klaus. He really likes to upset his dad just to irritate him. I found that really funny. A guy around his age by the name of Buddy, rounded up some of his friends nad then beat up a girl, Casey Scott, because she hasn’t turned yet. So they don’t believe her to be pack. However, Dex knows that Casey is his friend & needs to be protected and he is not about to let that slide. He believes that she might be his mate and thus belonged to him. In return for the pack’s protection, the lone witch, Lucinda has protected their land from encroachment by humans and hunters. We find out that Lucinda ‘saw’ a few things and she told Dex who freaks out and then he told Casey who does some crazy stuff. They are so cute together. I love it and them. I didn’t see the who, at all.
I loved this wolf shifter story! The story kept me intrigued with the mystery of who the bad guy was. I also liked how Dex was so protective of Casey and always looked out for her. Definitely recommend.
This Alpha mated story was not quite as gritty as they have been, this one is very sweet! Dex and Casey knew they were mates even as children, nothing was going to tear them apart. But....When it comes time for Casey to shift into her wolf, she can't. She can't even tell if she has a wolf inside her! Will Dex be allowed to mate with a non-shifter? What is blocking her wolf? This story has an exciting twist at the end that brings it all together to an HEA! This was an enjoyable, sweet read.
Part of The Alpha Shifter Collection get comfortable you put it down until the last page has been turned. Casey is sweet she has been pushed around because of her inability to shift; her pack isn’t accepting of her well some members and her self esteem is taking a hit not to mention anxiety issues, but her mate will take care of that. Dex sexy as all get out son of the alpha has known who his fated mate is he has nominated himself as her protector won’t allow anyone to push her around, he knows she will shift, and he ensure that she fits right in with everyone else regardless of the fact she doesn’t shift he committed to the mate bond. But when outside danger starts to affect them will they stick together, who is trying to keep them apart, why hasn’t her wolf made an appearance, and will they find happiness somewhere along the way with or without her wolf?
AMAZING!! I absolutely LOVED this book! I really loved Dex and Casey. They were incredible characters. I absolutely recommend this book.
Last book in the Alpha Shifter Collection series. Dex is the wolf Alpha's son and Casey is a wolf who couldn't transform. They're fated mates and they're in danger. Will they have a HEA? This is a must-read. Wish more books were coming.
I really liked this book. Dex has known that Casey is his mate from the time he was four. Nothing is going to stop him from mating her, not even the fact that at just over 18 years old she has not transitioned. Casey panics about this, thinking she'll have to leave the pack, no one wants a shifter who can't shift. But there are other forces at play. Good read.
This is the story of Casey and Dex. Dex has been her protégé and kept her safe for years, but when she is attacked again he has had enough and steps up his game and does everything he can to make her understand how he feels about her. Casey is desperate because she has not only been attacked but she is also distraught because her wolf refuses to show himself, but everything changes when she finds out that Dex cares about her and what he has done for her and is willing to do. A great romantic shifter story that I would definitely recommend reading.

Dex and Casey know they are mates but Casey is holding back because she cannot shift and she does not think she is worthy of Dex. Dex knows she will eventually shift and is fiercely protective of her. Will a threat against Dex tear them apart?
Casey, didn’t shift into her wolf, when it was expected of her and that makes her a target for bullies and gives her anxiety, but she has a protector her mate Dex. He is always there for her, has her back, loves and supports her. He, the alpha’s son, loves her for her, despite her shifting problems. But suddenly danger arises and someone wants to break them up and they have to fight for their future. I absolutely loved the concept that we have a strong pair with steadfast feelings and commitment. No rejection, no wavering, no doubts. I absolutely love Dex, his possessiveness, his love for her and he is protective of her and their relationship. Casey is as sweet as you can be, is loved by many (even if she doesn’t realizes it) and they have a beautiful relationship. I loved their chemistry, their story is beautiful, sweet and spicy. It’s a story full of love, twists and a beautiful ending.

He protects her from everyone. Casey is anxious, and feels that she does not belong in the pack. Dex continues to be supportive, and loving. He believes in their mate bond. Together they face magic, and danger. I enjoyed reading this book!!! The storyline flows well. The characters are well developed, and realistic.
Finally an Alpha written by Sam that looks after his mate from the beginning. Such a refreshing take. He is not ignoring her or hiding her or any of those things. Enjoyed this outlook and change of pace.
Nice gentle Romance. Quick read. He recognized her as his mate when they were still children but she is unaware and because she can't transition into a wolf she is unsure of her place in the pack and with him. The characters are nice and likable and the supporting characters are Charming as well. There's a good mystery surrounding Casey's inability to turn which results in an unexpected twist.
Loved reading My Mate. This book was a page turner for me which made it a quick read for me. The chemistry between Casey and Dex was super hot and loved the ending and their story!!
Short read but awesome all through out. I loved how Dex loved Casey. From the start of the story Dex showed us that his love and strength was there for Casey. This story had a suspenseful twist that kept me on the edge of my seat all packed into 120 pages. Spice level was to expected based off of the relationship with Casey and Dex but it didn't take away. Highly recommend!
I loved reading Dex and Casey’s story in My Mate by Sam Crescent. Dex is about to be alpha and he already has his mate and he refuses to let anyone hurt her or lay a hand on her. When someone in the back beats her very badly he is determined to find out who did it and make them pay.
So good! I have read other novels by this author and really enjoyed them. This novel did not disappoint. I love a good paranormal fated mate novel and this novel just checked so many boxes for me. I was excited to jump into this novel and was not disappointed. Once I started reading I didn't want to put it down. It was a sweet novel to read. I loved Dex, and his fated mate, Casey. I loved Dex and how protective he was of Casey. I loved their chemistry. I loved watching their realization that they are fated mates and as they fall in love. So good! I can hardly wait to see what this author has coming next. Loved it!

Casey did not transition or change to her wolf when she turned eighteen and people are talking. She is hurt and confused about not turning. Some in the pack want her banished or dead. Dex is determined to keep her safe and make her his.
This is a romantic story with the sweetest couple I’ve read about in a while. If you like wolf shifter romances, then you’ll enjoy this story.

I like how Dex did not care that Casey was unable to shift. That did not make her less in his eyes. It only made her different. Casey was saddened and disappointed, but it wasn't until circumstances changed that her belief and trust in Dex allowed for her own transition.
Once again we have another big hit. I loved how Casey can't turn into her wolf when everyone else has and she becomes the person some of the pack bully. Dex has always had he back protecting her and knowing every little thing that happens with her. He has known from a young age that she is his mate and has always had her back. I loved how their relationship develops and even knowing that she may not turn into a wolf Dex doesn't think less of her and still wants her for his mate. Casey is such a sweet, giving person that everyone loves her even though she doesn't feel that way. The relationship between these two is full of spice and also sweet. Love the twists and surprises in the end. Sam never lets us down with her stories. This is a must read!!

Really cute short story! It was adorable how persistent Dex was about Casey and always trying to eliminate her insecurities. I do wish the epilogue was longer it felt a bit rushed but still great read!

These characters have unique personalities, complicated histories and believable interactions. This story has the following: a Wolfless Female, her Alpha Mate, he always knew she was to be his, she is attacked by packmates, secrets, twists, turns, danger, love, chemistry and a HEA. A must read for Paranormal Romance Lovers.
Dex has known that Casey is his mate. Sure, she can’t transition now but it will come. He isn’t about to let anyone bully her. He will protector her to the end. Casey was hoping the transition would happen when she turned 18 but nothing. She feels like she doesn’t belong in the pack. Dex has been nothing but sweet. When he tells her she is his mate, she knew it was right. But what is holding her back. Never mess with Lucinda the witch. She isn’t bad but her magic comes with a price his father knows well. This was a really good story. I enjoyed the difference. It was an awakening of two wolves with one lost but then found.
Sam Crescent has written another story in this series. Casey has turned 18 but hasn't shifted yet so some of the pack bully her. Dex, who is the Alpha's son and heir, has always protected her since they were kids. The story is friends to lovers and was a wonderful read. I loved how they were each others "first" and as always Ms. Crescent gives us an epilogue so we can see them in the future! A bit of OW drama but nothing bad and it's quickly resolved!
This was such a sweet romance for alpha in training, Dex, and his fated mate, Casey. She hasn't been able to shift into her wolf and this is causing her some serious anxiety, not to mention rejection and bullying from some pack members. Dex loves her totally, though, and I really liked the role model his father was in how the pack came first. That no sacrifice was too big to save the pack. Put together with a strong fated mates love, Dex and Casey are committed to each other but have to deal with outside influences and danger. This was a bit of an angsty read but I couldn't put it down ;P Definitely a great addition to the series :D
His Mate Dex had always know Casey was his mate and had protected her for years and after the last attack on her, he was more determined to make her aware of his feelings. Casey was upset and frustrated, her Wolf had not come forward but finding out how much Dex cared for her and what she was to him made her re-think and evaluate who she was. This is one super romantic read with some steamy moments and a twist you won’t see coming!
