The Good Knight Society, 1

Roland was forced to take a bride he didn’t want and resented his father for setting it up. The first glance of his would-be bride knocked him off his feet. Even unconscious, she exuded innocence. When he thinks about losing her, he vows to fight to keep her with him where she belongs.

Laila woke up in a place she’d never seen before with a man she didn’t know. Instead of being terrified, she felt calm. Knowing she was away from her father helped her to appreciate the family she would make with the man she had no choice but to marry.

When Laila finds out Roland has done the one thing she told him she hated, she runs, but it doesn’t end well. After she physically heals, she turns her emotions inward, unconsciously and slowly killing herself, and he would never allow that to happen.

Be Warned: anal sex

Excerpt:

“Are you brave enough to let me have you?” he asked.

She nodded again, unable to say the words.

He easily lifted her onto his lap, facing him. “Spread your legs.”

She did and let him lower her until they were pressed tightly together. Her cunt immediately came into contact with his hard cock, making her whimper.

He cupped her face in his hands. “I’m going to kiss you now.”

She reached up and grasped both of his thick wrists in her hands.

He leaned forward and started to press his lips to her lightly. It seemed like several minutes had passed, and she was getting frustrated. She started to lean into him and encourage him to kiss her like he had before. She heard him chuckle before gripping the back of her head with his hand, tilting his to deepen the kiss, giving her what she was asking for. At one point, she had to jerk her head back to take in a deep breath.

“Breathe through your nose, Pet.”

Laila nodded and leaned in for another kiss. She was vaguely aware of his other hand running up and down her back, making goose bumps cover her skin. Her stomach tightened almost painfully when he covered one of her ass cheeks and let his fingertips caress her tender secret opening through her panties. She never expected that he would want to touch her asshole.

She could feel a gush of liquid rush from her body and was too far gone to be embarrassed by it.

He continued to distract her with kisses as his fingers became bolder, sliding under the edge of her panties and letting one penetrate her cunt. Her head tilted back, and her eyes closed tightly as she experienced the most wonderful thing she ever had.

“Do you want more, Pet?” he murmured against her neck.

That caress, added to the others, made it impossible to think about any one thing.

“Pet?”

“Please,” she begged but had no idea what for.

“Good girl.”

Her breath stuttered when he pulled her nightgown off and dropped it onto the floor. She opened her mouth to stop him until he cupped one of her breasts and lightly pinched her nipple between two of his fingers at the same time, driving his finger deeper inside of her.

“Oh, God.”

She felt a tug and then heard her panties rip before feeling the air on her ass. Right away, his finger was back inside of her. She realized he had added a finger when she felt her pussy stretch.

His assault on her breasts, cunt, and neck continued until she was withering against his cock and begging him for more.

A startled scream tore from her throat when Roland rolled them until her back hit the mattress, and he loomed over her. He kept most of his weight off of her but started rhythmically pressing against her core.

She wasn’t aware when he had taken his sleep pants off, but he was now pressing against her with nothing between them. Laila felt him reach between them and start to press on something that made her body jerk.

“This is your little clit, Pet.”

She’d heard of it before but never experienced how it felt to touch it.

“Please,” she begged and tried to move her hips only to have him press harder against her immobilizing her.

“I’ll take care of you,” he reminded her.

The next thing she felt was pressure. It took her a moment to realize he was pressing his cock into her. When she started to stiffen, he started pinching her clit as he continued to surge into her.

Her thoughts splintered at the same time he pushed through her cherry and as far as he could go into her cunt. She was vaguely aware that there had been a burst of pain when he broke through but hadn’t felt the impact like she normally would have because of his distractions.

Roland held still for a moment, rested his elbows on either side of her head, and pressed a sweet kiss on her lips.

“How are you doing?” he asked.

She assessed her body. “I feel stretched, but it’s not painful. My stomach is still tight.”

“When I make you come, it will help with that. You’ll eventually get used to the size of my cock, but until then, I’ll go easy on you.”

Roland kissed her a few times. “Tell me if you feel any pain.”

Laila gripped his shoulders and nodded.

He started off slowly. After a few minutes, the ache in her stomach grew exponentially.

“Please, Roland. Make the ache go away.”

“I’ll take care of you.”

His thrusts became faster and harder, and it still wasn’t enough to make her feel better. She felt his fingers come between them again, and his assault on her clit was harder than before. Just that bit of erotic pain was enough to throw her over. A scream tore from her throat, echoing throughout the room.

When it was finished, she collapsed to the mattress and held on while he took his own pleasure. She was thrilled by the deep groan that came from him because it told her she’d pleased him.

After a moment, he rolled them to the side and pulled her against his chest.

Laila still felt like she was floating with the aftermath of the pleasure he’d given her. She wondered if it was wrong to ask him to do it again.

Great read
Written by Laura Ann on 19th Nov 2024

I found the concept of the Good Knight Society to be fascinating and was a little upset that there wasn’t more shown in the book about what they actually do. Like an actual save etc. I did enjoy the story but it was a bit on the short side. Warren is Roland’s father and the CEO of the business although, he hasn’t really one much else but hold the title recently. He has allowed his son to peruse some women that could be eligible to be his wife for some years now. Fed up with this, he finally, makes a deal/ alliance with a friend, Armondo Carrillo of Argentina for his daughter to be Roland’s wife. Neither Roland nor Laila has a say in it as the deal is done. I really liked Roland’s reaction to when he meets Laila. I really dislike Armondo & Warren a lot. I’d even use a few curse words to describe them. lol. Roland impressed me with how he handles his father when Laila first arrives. However, his father is a piece of work and does a lot of underhanded things in the book. Ugh. I literally, felt sick to my stomach at one point. There are loads of reveals and revelations in the book as well as a pile of misunderstandings that cause major problems between the couple. I cried a few times too and laughed and chewed on my nails. I wonder if there will be more related characters in more books? I’d be interested in them.

Her Knight
Written by ReadItAgain on 19th Nov 2024

The concept of this story, the reason for Roland taking Laila as his wife, is interesting. It doesn't take him long to question why she does it and her honesty provides a little bit of insight into her own family home. While one issue was resolved and they seemed to be able to move forward in their marriage, there were others that came up that produced deeper, darker emotions neither were prepared to handle. I liked most of this story. I for sure did not like Roland's father; he's a jerk of the highest order. But I also, on some level, didn't really like that Laila pretended to something she wasn't. Do I understand the reason behind it? Absolutely, but it's still a little difficult to wrap my head around. Like I said, I liked most of this story. The characters are good and good together. I hope to find out more about The Good Knight Society in future books.

Mine To Keep!
Written by Mary on 19th Nov 2024

This is the first in a new series with protective men and the little that takes their breath away and steels their heart. Such a good read with an intriguing plot. This is the first in the new "Good Knight Society". It is interesting and intriguing with steamy goodness. The story is fairly short and quick but fast paced and addictive. I love the characters; their dad's not so much. The story is about Roland and Laila. He sees her in the condition her father sends her to him and his protective side steps up and he takes action. She has played a certain role her whole life but when she meets Roland she feels safe for the first time. This is a sweet story with some action, plotting, under handed tactics and more.

Amazing
Written by Sencillez on 19th Nov 2024

I loved reading Roland and Laila’s story in Mine to keep by Lila fox. When Laila wakes up one day in an unfamiliar place with a man she doesn’t know she’s scared but also relieved to be away from her abusive father. Just maybe she can get some peace with this man. When Roland found out he had to marry a women he had never met he was furious until he sees her. When he lays eyes on her he knows he will never let her go but they have to survive everyone plotting against them.

Written by KMH on 19th Nov 2024

I love when this author gives us a new story, and gives us all the feels with it! I lobe her writing style and how she gets into the nitty gritty bit and makes you feel the story. I really liked both characters and I loved seeing them change and become one instead of fighting against what was meant to be! I couldn't put it down and I sat a thought about this book after I put it down which is a good sign!

Laila and Roland
Written by SeahawkGirl on 19th Nov 2024

When Roland learns his father has arranged a marriage for him with the daughter of a business associate, he’s initially outraged. But his attitude shifts when a beautiful, unconscious young woman, Laila, is brought to his home. Drugged by her father to be more compliant, Laila has spent years pretending to be of lower mental acuity due to a supposed head injury. Roland quickly sees through her act and becomes fascinated, wanting to understand why she hides her true self. However, his father’s insistence that he prioritize the family business pulls him away, leaving Laila feeling uncertain about Roland’s intentions. When she later finds him dancing with another woman, her distrust leads her to flee. Roland, though harboring a secret as a member of the Good Knight Society, is no cheater; he genuinely cares for Laila. This was a compelling start to the series, and I’m eager to read more about the other members of the Society in future books.

Written by Arevalomencarelli on 19th Nov 2024

I really enjoyed this book. It had a good amount of spice but wasn’t overpowering. The mix had a great inner strength and I loved how even though the mmc didn’t want a marriage he was all in seconds into seeing her. It’s a great/sweet palette cleanser.

Roland and Laila
Written by Luv2Read17 on 19th Nov 2024

This was a fast moving read that starts off as an arranged marriage but everything isn't as "simple" as it seems. Neither Roland or Laila are excited about their situation until he falls first and then she comes around as they quickly get to know each other. Needless to say, because they don't actually know each other due to their quick "romance," we see a lot of insecurities pop up. One leads to a terrible accident that not only physically affects Laila, but also mentally/emotionally. I'm looking forward to more stories about the Good Knight Society. It was alluded to (hopefully Daniel will be the next book) but I'd like to hear more about it.

Such a sweet couple.
Written by Roberta R on 19th Nov 2024

I liked this book because the MCs were so sweet and I could see them together. Their chemistry was awesome and the troubles in their marriage kept me turning pages to find out what happened next. The only thing I would have liked to see was more of his father and his desire to keep them apart. I thought he gave in too easily. I recommend this book to all romance readers.

Written by Shelly44 on 19th Nov 2024

So good! I have read other novels by this author and really enjoyed them. This novel did not disappoint. I was excited to jump into this novel. From the first chapter I was pulled into this story and had a hard time putting this novel down. I love a good arranged/forced marriage to escape a bad situation. This novel just hit the spot for me. I loved Roland and Laila's story. Their chemistry was so good! I loved watching their walls and defenses lower and them fall in love. So good! I can hardly wait to see what this author has coming next.

hot, fast, short
Written by laura.lovesreading on 19th Nov 2024

It starts as an arranged marriage and ends as love. The attraction was instant and mutual and it only grows from there. I loved that Roland was gentle, caring and prioritized her comfort and consent over his needs. There was a misunderstanding, which caused a riff between these two. I would have liked a more detailed description of what the situation does to Roland and Laila. His reaction to her resurfaced trauma was not the best and I would have liked an apology and a bit more self loathing, but overall was it a satisfying read and I really enjoyed them as a pair.

What a wonderful story. We are taken along in the lives of Roland and Laila. Because both are forced by their fathers to marry the man and woman of their choice, they decide to marry each other. But both have secrets that they do not tell so the question is what are those secrets and can those secrets damage their budding relationship if they come out? With the many twists, secrets. tension and danger and romance and add to that the steamy moments and you have a great story that keeps your attention.

His naive wife
Written by Redfaeryrose on 19th Nov 2024

I want to take a moment to honor our MMC. He truly was a wonderful man and a loving husband. As for the FMC, I think she’s a lovely woman, but I sometimes feel there’s a bit of naivety in her approach that seems a little surprising given her intelligence. Overall, I appreciate both of them!

An enjoyable, arranged marriage, secret society read
Written by EPM on 19th Nov 2024

Laila and Roland both have secrets, not the best way to start a marriage, but since neither of them want the marriage arranged by the Father's, it is understandable. However, things change for both of them after they meet. The book has romance, steam secrets, twists, intrigue, a hint of danger. I am looking forward to the next in the series.

Written by LBing on 19th Nov 2024

This was an exciting and unexpected first book to a new series. I like the idea of the Good Knights but I was surprised that Roland was willing to take his arranged bride in marriage. Of course, the connection and chemistry he feels for his unwilling bride was off the charts hot ;) Expect to find yourself fully engaged as these two work through what is truth and what isn't, as they journey to their HEA. It's filled with drama, betrayal, family and hot romance,. Good fun!
