At the core of this delightful short story is a good deal of hot sex. Toss in some mythic characters like vampires and such, and this is a surprising appetizer that is quite spicy and most certainly in need of a tall, cool, icy beverage at one's side. I enjoyed myself and I do so recommend this. Tantalizing! Lucinda, Lucy, is being gently to heatedly ravished while she dreams. Initially sporadic, it is now an every-night all-night savory seduction. Lucinda is overwhelmed and very scared since she knows she is losing a battle for her sanity, serenity, and sense of self. She also knows she truly is in love with Marissa, her lover for the past three months, who is definitely not her dream vanquisher. Plus Marissa knows something rather shady is going on as Lucinda becomes ever more distant and removed from the passionate pairing she and Lucinda used to share. Trouble in paradise! Marissa insists, demands actually, to know >who the hell is Katrina<? Therein lies the heart and key to the situation. Why is Katrina pursuing Lucy with such diligence? What is the complete history of Katrina and Lucy? Unquestionably Katrina is a super seductive yet a lusty being from the netherworld. Katrina is unbelievably directed toward reacquiring Lucy as her own. This part of the story focusing on Katrina and Lucy is a potent addition and touchstone within this story. It added a clearly delicious undertone. When the missing pieces of Marissa's history are also added, I was simply floored and yet titillated. It is not difficult to follow the rapid refocusing from Lucinda, to Katrina, to Marissa and this kind of astounding dance was exceptionally entertaining. Hang on for dear life! For me, this was a really satisfying and powerfully crafted short story. If you are not disturbed by the dark and semilegendary personalities intimately involved here, this has every possibility of being a thoroughly gratifying reading experience. Intoxicating!
