Melissa Damien is a wolf shifter and she lives life to the fullest. She has a wonderfully sassy attitude. She is not a young pup or an old dog either. She does not expect to find her mate and she is not even really looking. She also does not back down. Declan Faylon is a grizzly bear shifter who works for Shifter Intelligence League as a skilled killer. Declan did not expect to find his mate but when he spots Melissa he is not willing to let her go. The sex scenes were hot and steamy. The chemistry between Declan and Melissa is blistering. I loved that Melissa was not willing to fall all over herself and mate with Declan just because he demands it. Bear Naked and Bite Marks is the fifth book in the Sweet Water series by Jenika Snow. While this book is part of a series it can be read and enjoyed as a standalone novel. I found this book well written. The main and secondary characters were fascinating and appealing. Overall, this was a great book. I can’t wait to read the next book in the series.

This Sweet Water novella is an intriguing and riveting shifter romance. Wolf shifter, Melissa Damien has a sassy attitude and lives life to the fullest. Bear shifter, Declan Faylon is a mercenary and a loner. But someone else wants his mate and he will have to use his lethal training to save her. This fast paced and smooth flowing keeps the anticipation building throughout with suspense, action, and romance. The reader feels like they are part of the story with the author’s descriptions and details that inspire vivid images and capture the imagination. The scenes are well orchestrated and believable and the strong compelling characters are easily related to and grab the reader’s attention from the very beginning. The instant attraction between Melissa and Declan explodes from the pages and the sex scenes are hot and steamy, but the relationship has sparks flying in every direction as the couple’s personalities clash. Melissa’s attitude provides some humorous and sassy dialogue and the reader can’t help but fall for the alpha bear of few but bossy words. The conflict with the drug runners and the stalker after Melissa adds depth and spice to this fiery romance that keeps readers entertained from beginning to end. And while I wish these stories were a little longer, I did enjoy the quick and erotic read that takes place in a small town full of shifers, hmmm… I think I would like to visit more often.

Bear Naked and Bite Marks is the fifth in Jenika Snow’s Sweet Water series. It’s possible to read it as a standalone, but as someone who’s read the whole series so far, I really like the build up of knowing who past characters are. I will say that I didn’t connect with Melissa and Declan as a couple as much as I did past couples. There was a lack of deeper emotion between them that followed me through the whole story. It’s a very sexy and erotic book, and when they were together sexually they definitely had major chemistry. I did like that Melissa was a strong female character and outside the bedroom, she was willing and able to put Declan in his place. Declan is a male who isn’t used to actual relationships so I gave him a lot of slack for his at times brutish behavior. I will be visiting Sweet Water again, if she writes more, because while this wasn’t my favorite out of the series, I do enjoy the little escape the stories bring. It’s a very steamy read that will definitely get the engines going, because Ms. Snow can definitely write a very erotic sex scene.

Let us just say his attitude did not endeat him to Melissa and she left Declan knowing he would eventually find her and she would have to deal with their mating. Then there is the shifter who has decided he would make a better mate for Melissa and isn’t about to let a grizzly shifter claim what he thinks should be his. I love that Melissa isn’t afraid to put Declan in his place and make him show her that she is worth the effort to woo her affections. I also admire Declan for pushing himself outside of his comfort zone to give her what she wants. When push comes to shove, both go for what they want. But Ms. Snow throws in a curve ball with the crazy that has decided he can defy the fates and take what he wants and no one is going to get in his way. Can Declan keep her safe or will the threat to their mating win and destroy their chance at a happily ever after? Bear Naked And Bite Marks is the fifth Book in the Sweetwater series, but can very easily be read as a stand alone. I have enjoyed Jenika Snow’s books for some time. This series is a shoot off of her Wylde Bears series and they are mentioned in the book. If you want an better insight into the town of Sweetwater and the shifters that live there, begin with the Wylde Bears and then onto the Sweetwater books. Each book, although are romance books also include a bit of suspense and intrigue. Whether it is presently happening or re-occurring from the past. There is always an element to keep you glued to the story line and waiting for the next one to come. Pick up a copy for yourself and you will soon see what what is so addictive about this author’s style.

I really loved Declan and Melissa's story! These two were so feisty. I loved Declan and how he wouldn't take crap off anyone. Melissa tried to be a hardass, but she was actually really sweet. This was a great story!!

Declan and Melissa's story was amazing! I just love Melissa's sassiness and Declan's is the epitome of Alpha male. The clashing between the two on their first meeting and realization of being mates was priceless. The raw animal lust that Declan has for Melissa is super hot. His use of dirty language is enough to turn any woman into a jumbling mess. Add in the little twist at then end of the story and it makes for another great read! An exceptional book to add to an already amazing series! Way to go Jenika Snow!
