Roxanne, Andrew and Stefan
Thirty years ago, Roxanne fled from Andrew and Stefan, the two loves of her life. In all that time, she never forgot them nor stopped loving them. Now they have found her and they want her back, never having forgotten nor stopped loving her. Even though her Christmas wish every year has been to be back with them, she doesn’t trust that they still feel the same, nor can she get over her shame and guilt for leaving them all those years ago. She has been an independent woman all these years, keeping her thoughts and feelings hidden from those close to her, always with her protective mask in place. Trying to release some of that control and be more open is a huge challenge for her. A major health issue is also causing her to question what she wants and what her two loves want, and whether she can seriously consider changes in her life when the outcome is so uncertain. This is complicating her thinking and feelings when facing the decision she must make—follow her heart or let her guilt and fear keep her from her forever and always lovers. Because the book blurb was so vague, it was harder to write the review without spoilers because most of the book hinges on those spoilers. The story kept me involved, although there were a few times I wanted to shake her, as well as a few tears. I could totally understand her reasons for things she did without totally agreeing with them. Characters are well developed, and easy to like and relate to. I would rate it a 4.5, but bumping to a 5 for an even number.
