The Nannies, 1

Wayne Myers is a playboy, and doesn’t have time in his life for children. When a little boy is handed to him with the claim to be his son, Wayne knows without a doubt that he’s not the father. Until he can prove it, though, what the hell is he to do with a damn kid?

Temperance Michaels has been a nanny for twelve years, and she’s tired of the constant heartache when she has to walk away. She knows she has to find something else to do with her life, so when she gets a call from Wayne, her first instinct is to turn him down. But after hearing about the young boy who has lost his mother, she caves.

Now that Wayne has a nanny, he intends to lead his own life again. But he didn’t anticipate being attracted to the raven-haired beauty. Temperance is not like any of the women he’s ever been with, and she’s getting under his skin. With Temperance and Timothy in his life, Wayne has the chance to find out what it’s like to have a family of his own, at least for a while. After temporarily enjoying having a woman and a kid, he intends to give them both up.

Will this playboy take a chance or return to his womanizing ways?

A brand-new series that will have the theme of men falling for their nanny.

Excerpt:

Once Timothy was finished on the swings, it was time for lunch, and she set up their little picnic on the ground, on a small blanket. Handing out their small bags of goodies, she smiled at Timothy, who was talking a mile a minute. He wanted to be an astronaut, police officer, fireman, and even a pirate.

“Will I be allowed on your ship, oh Captain Timothy?” Wayne asked.

“Yes. You can help me run it.”

Temperance laughed. Leave it to a child to defuse any tension that might be building. The rest of the day they went shopping, looking for some fun games to play as the weather had forecast rain. They got several movies and then headed back to the apartment.

She left Wayne and Timothy watching movies as she looked in the fridge and figured out what to cook.

“He’s out for the count,” Wayne said five minutes later as she was putting everything together for a casserole.

“He’ll wake in a little while then.” She glanced over at him, offering him a smile.

“You’re not going to mock me?” he asked.

She stopped what she was doing, turning toward him and resting a hand on her hip. “Why would I mock you?” He was still her boss, and she had to remember to keep this barrier in place, even as she wanted to hug him.

“I wasn’t just saying a damn line either.” He stepped into the kitchen. “I don’t tell lies.”

She didn’t say anything as he came close. The tips of his toes touched hers.

“I had a lot of fun today.”

“You’re sure? You seemed to be in a bit of a mood.” Her heart began to race. He was so close, and right now she couldn’t seem to shut her body off. He was the boss; she was the employee.

She was a professional.

Never in all of her nannying life had she spent this much time with anyone, nor had she wanted to.

There was something about Wayne. He seemed to need something from her.

It was why she made sure to spend a little time with him at night even though all she wanted to do was fall into bed.

They talked, and she truly believed that in everything he was honest.

He reached out, taking a stray curl and wrapping it around his finger. She wondered if other women were wrapped around his finger as easily as her damn hair.

“I don’t like being reminded of everything I don’t have.”

Had his voice gotten sexier?

They were whispering now.

His gaze was on her lips, and she knew without a doubt that it was dangerous territory.

Before she could stop him, he’d cupped her face, and his thumb ran across her bottom lip. She swallowed a moan, refusing to let it escape.

“I’m your nanny, Wayne. This crosses so many lines.”

“Have you ever crossed any lines?”

She shook her head.

Good Job!

Not all moon light and roses. I like how the characters are more real they have flaws and work into good people in the end. Maybe a bit quickly but this is fiction so you have to keep it moving!

Loved it. The way Temperance & Timothy showed a cold hearted man, Wayne that there is more to life then work was not only an eye opener but touching. The secondary characters added to the story. Highly recommend.

Long and Short Reviews LASR
Written by Tulip on 15th Dec 2017

This was another great book from Sam Crescent ! This book had a solid plot that immediately grabbed my attention along with my heart. Wayne knew beyond any doubt that Timothy wasn’t his son so he planned on giving him back to the social workers as soon as possible. Then he hired Temperance Michaels and found himself helplessly drawn to the curvacious nanny. Temperance blew into his life and paired up with the tiny tot to thaw out his cold heart. Their story was romantic, sexy and emotional. Temperance, Wayne, and little Timothy were awesome characters who won my heart in this touching romance. Like most of Sam Crescent’s characters they were vivid, so it was easy to connect with them, especially after Wayne finally opened up to Temperance about his past. I really wanted to smack him at times but forgave him for some of the things he did. Temperance was super nice but never let anybody run over her either. They were just perfect together and had me cheering for them all the way. The Nanny and the Playboy kick started a new series by Sam Crescent. I loved this one and can’t wait to read the next book in The Nannies Series.

Knotty Girl
Written by Sandie on 28th Nov 2017

As usual, Sam Crescent comes out with a series that features a heroine that isn’t a perfect size 2. She’s curvy, and depicts the average size of most women in our society. The Nanny and The Playboy is the first book in her new series, The Nannies. Wayne Myers has 4 year old Timmy dumped on him by a social worker. Wayne is not only a big jerk, but he doesn’t want to be bothered with a kid he knows isn’t his. He runs into his friend Robert, whose wife just fired their nanny because she didn’t like the fact that the kids were becoming attached. Temperance is one of the most sought after nannies around, but she has a habit of becoming highly attached to her charges. She’s plus-sized, and hasn’t had a lot of love in her life. She meets Wayne and doesn’t particularly care for him, but she meets Timmy and decides to take the case. Wayne may say he’s not his, but as time goes on, he starts to care for both Timmy and Temperance. When Temperance is hurt, Wayne makes a decision that may ruin everything. Wayne was difficult to get to like in this book, but getting to know him and his background made him more likeable as the story went on. Temperance was just loveable from the start. This was a wonderful story, with a HEA that Sam is so well known for!

Very romantic plot. And the lead female was sweet and kind. Then add a cold hearted businessman to the mix and you got a romantic plot!

I enjoyed this one.
Written by Emily Heisler on 10th Nov 2017

Wayne Myers doesn't know who the woman is that claimed he fathered a four year old boy and when the boy is left in his care, he knows its impossible. After getting called out for being uncaring, he hires a nanny who will take care of the child and maybe draw him out. Temperance Michaels knows she needs a change, she is tired of nannying for families only to have to walk away after getting close and having to say goodbye. Deciding to take one last job and work for Wayne Myers. What starts off as a boss/employee relationship quickly builds to something more intimate. However, Wayne Myers never planned on a family but is he willing to let them walk away? I enjoyed this one. Wayne is a bit aloof and given his past you understand why he is the way he is. I liked Temperance, she was warm and brings out the best in people. Look forward to more books in this series.

I love all of Sam's books but this new book is incredible. Tempe is such a strong woman & Wayne a great although jaded & cocky man. Put them together & you have a wonderful story. This is a definite one click book. Caution: have tissues ready.

Loved it from the first page

When little Timothy is dropped off with Wayne by someone claiming he is Wayne's son, he is at a lose as how to deal with him. Temperance is a professional nanny and having been left go from her previous job because of a new and jealous wife, she is looking for work. She is suggested to Wayne as someone who would help with Timmy and she finally agrees to help Wayne out. Slowly, Temperance and Timothy are working their way into Wayne's heart but he doesn't believe he is worthy of her love. Temperance was a beautiful woman who is just trying to make her way in the world. I loved her from the start; and little Timmy. I just fell for him and wanted to adopt him myself. Wayne was such a jerk at times and I so wanted to reach through the kindle and smack him upside the head. Will he finally be able to see what he had before he looses it? And will Temperance and Timothy let him back in? This was a heartfelt and feel good story that will have you rooting for the 3 of them!

I have always loved Sam Crescent’s books, and this rates right up there. Temperance is awesome and strong; and Wayne-I waffle between loving him and wanting to smack him!! It even brought me to tears. I couldn’t put it down, I had to keep going to see how it ended. Thanks to Sam for sharing this story with us!!

GREAT
Written by Neringa on 19th Oct 2017

It was a great way to start new series. Temperance and Wayne were good for each other. They both had the same dream, and they could reach it toghter. Though Wayne fought it by being an asshole. Though, I think he was just scared that at the end it wouldn't last and it's better to enjoy for today and give it all up 'tomorrow'. Wayne wasn't this cold asshole he played to be. He had a heart. It just needed the right woman to see it.
