Romance on the Go ®

Excited to be chosen for the journey of a lifetime, Natalie Inglewood is set for a trip to the moon. She’s been dreaming about this day since she was a little girl. Only once she gets into space, Rory, the other astronaut on board, exhibits a peculiar problem. Unbeknownst to him, it seems Rory has a latent werewolf gene. The closer they get to the moon, the more his beast tries to tear its way out of him. Natalie seems to be the only thing keeping it at bay.

How long can the pair go before things turn dangerous? As Natalie finds herself falling for Rory, she fears what reaching the moon might mean for him. If he shifts while on its surface, he’ll not be able to withstand the moon’s environment. The budding couple has to work together to complete their mission and attempt to somehow make it home safely.

Excerpt:

Rory opened his mouth to say something else, but the sudden shift in Natalie’s mood did not go unnoticed. Her unexpected frown made him wary. In space, an abrupt mood change like that could mean a whole lot of things, many of them dangerous. “What is it?”

“Are you feeling all right?”

A frown of his own appeared. “Why do you—” And then suddenly pain like nothing he’d ever experienced slammed into him. It hit like a freight train, tearing through his body as if ripping him apart from the inside. He screamed. No amount of macho bravado could have kept the sound inside him. Hearing the sound of it in his own ears was chilling. He hadn’t known he could make a sound like that. “What … what’s … happening?”

He gave another howl of pain and doubled over, clutching his abdomen in agony. As he did, his arms lit with the sensation of fire. He almost would have thought they were on fire, but that would mean so many bad things for their mission. He lowered his gaze to his burning flesh and panic welled up inside of him at the sight of long, coarse hair sprouting from his arms. What the hell?

His eyes lifted to Natalie’s, and he knew they must be filled with pure, animalistic terror. “What is happening to me?”

Long and Short Reviews

In the future, the space race has been revived. Rory and Natalie are sent into space to repair a drone and the job should take about a week. Natalie is an avid reader and makes sure she has enough books to read on the journey. The drone is near to the moon, but as their ship approaches, strange things happen to Rory. Hair grows on his hands, his face becomes long and his teeth grow and sharpen. Natalie realizes she is alone in a spacecraft with a werewolf. This is a lovely story. Although it is mainly about the effect of the moon on Rory, it shows the emotional stress on both of them and how Natalie deals with the unexpected transformation. Their main worry is what happens when they return to earth. Will the wolf lie dormant in Rory or will this be a monthly event? I loved how the author dealt with their future concerns and worries about what will happen to them when they return to earth. Very captivating and held my interest to the end.

Never judge a book by its' cover. Good advice. Both Natalie and Rory have made assumptions based on appearance, and both are wrong. Natalie uses her expertise as a NASA employee, and a paranormal romance fan, to save the mission she and Rory have been assigned. Rory is totally caught off guard by his physical reactions to the moon. And where is he headed? The moon. That isn't going to end well if he doesn't get control of his emerging wolf. Natalie is calm(ish) and collected when it comes to strategy and more than willing to placate his beast with her own person. Seems his wolf really likes Natalie and as they get closer to the moon, they grow closer in all ways. This was a cute and creative spin on the wolf shifter romance. The story flowed well and kept me interested and there were plenty of sexy times to keep me entertained. A relationship born of necessity soon morphs to much more, and the ending of the story was much appreciated in light of the ominous discoveries that Trace and Natalie made in the completion of their mission.

The story was definitely interesting. I really enjoyed the change up on a shifter and how he comes into it.
