Not only was my lover hot but he liked to play. When had I become so lucky? I smelled the heady mixture of his musk and his clean flesh. It made me inhale sharply. The moment Lavender ran from the room, I let out a loud growl and gave chase. I ripped my shirt off, shredding it with my nails as I ran. My wolf DNA was taking charge. I felt the human parts of me begin to shut down and go dormant. Footsteps sounded down the hall. I sniffed the air and smiled. My teeth were beginning to elongate at the scent of such a sexual conquest. I took off.

Sweat beaded my skin as I reached the end of the corridor. As part wolf, I had a higher temperature than most beings. Combine that with the brown hair on my chest and the warm ship. There was a shred of clothing on the ground. I shoved one boot off and then the other as I stumbled forward. I turned a corner, skidding to a stop.  The odor was strongest here. Hot horny male seemed to pump into the air all around me. Layden and Lavender are back in this installment, which tells their story. At some point this installment almost became just plain erotica with a couple sci-fi sequences stuck in the middle. Honestly, I had a hard time enjoying this one as much as the first one. Seriously? They have sex in the space ship while the enemy is looking for them in the asteroid belt, and then frottage in their space suits while hanging off the bottom of that space ship while they are waiting for the enemy to haul the ship into their cargo bay? I thought this installment was ok, but not on par with the first installment. It kind of lost my interest for a little while in the middle and then ended in a cliffhanger. I’m really thinking book 2 and book 3 should have been one book?

Two of the "handsome heroes" from the first book in the series are back, and I have to admit, the pairing of Layden of the Golden Wolf Clan and Lavender of the Feline Clan made me grin. They seemed to get in trouble all the time and to have a whole story devoted to their woes as a couple and other problems is great. I was happy to see that the humorous tone and overwhelmingly good fun everyone is having are as much a part of this book as the last. Serious romance this is not, but it’s just the ticket if you're looking for an adventure in outer space and great entertainment of the erotic sort. A true erotic space opera that gets more fun each time a new volume is added. Layden carries the DNA of his wolf ancestors, and it shows in the way he thinks and behaves. He is also very much a man, and has fallen for Lavender, a man driven by his feline DNA. The way they behave together had me in stitches. Layden is all possessive, mine, mine, mine. Lavender is very playful and loves to tease the “stupid mutt”. In the end, it’s clear they really love each other and when Layden’s attempt at providing a home for Lavender so they can settle down goes wrong, they quickly realize it’ll take both of them actually cooperating if they want to survive. From the teasing nicknames and not so teasing insults they throw at each other to the unlikely events that take place, this is a very entertaining story. A kidnapping is only the beginning of it all. Secrets are revealed, spaceships are stolen, and one of the best interludes, I think, is the scene where Layden and Lavender are bored while they’re hiding and decide to have frottage in space suits. Yes, I know it’s most unlikely, but hey, I had fun reading it. If you like space opera with a good dose of humor, if the facts and reality are less important to you than having a good time, and if you’re willing to suspend your disbelief for a read that is as hot as it is outrageous, then you will probably like this novella.

Layden, a wolf, sells everything and buys a house for Lavender, his lover a feline. Lavender is furious. One his way back to the house Lavender is kidnapped by the man he left at the altar and it’s up to Layden to rescue him from the feline intending to take him back and marry him. Full of sarcastic comments, action, and adventure. As well as some hot sex between Lavender, Layden, Dusk, and Drayton.

A mouth watering read that get's your skin tingling

He did it again!! This series is getting better and better, and this is "just" the second book. I nearly longed for Lavenders and Laydons story after it was getting clearer in "Handsome Hero Wanted" that between this two sexy beasts it is more than the usual cat-and-dog-fight. Both together are just like dynamite and fire...and we're not even talking about the sex here! The sexual tension at every moment they're near each other gets your skin tingling and their make-up sex just leaves your mouth watering for more. Even in dangerous situations, they can't let their hands of each other for long. (Just remembering hanging outside of a space ship and getting horny and what to do against it! Really great job with that scene, James Cox, haven't got that in my Imagination for being possible at all!) As Laydon get's really aware of his feelings for his feline it is nearly to late, or isn't it?! And Lavender, will he stay with his sexy mutt, no matter what the future holds? You just have to read to get to know, but believe me, you won't be disappointed. This book is just a great and sexy read!

I want to spend a day in James Coxs’ brain. Okay, that sounds creepy but what an imagination he has. This book is the second in his Handsome Heroes Series but can be read as a stand alone. Layden is part wolf, a tough guy that doesn't take shit from anyone...until he meets Lavender. This is the story of two fantastic men, one wolf, one feline who are trying to find their happily ever after. What they find were lots of lying but the lies were almost the same! Which I thought was cute. Then there’s the escape plans these two come up with...hysterical and entertaining. There was more of a plot in this book than the first book which I really liked. The author seems to keep improving his skills. And of course the sex. Really?! Awesome! There are also naked cameos from characters in the first book. The end is a slight cliff hanger, not a big one. Oh, and the one liners! I for one can’t wait to read the next book in this wacky, wicked series! Handsome, Hard and Delicious is a wild ride with sexy aliens that shouldn't be missed!

Kallen is praised as a hero - he has stopped a war, killed a spy, and now has a coveted spot in the Triple Towers, the only echelon of safety and luxury left in a dry, desert world. But there is more to the story than anyone wants to hear, except for Lorn, whose brother is the dead "spy" and who knows that Kallen's story cannot be true. Together they search for the truth against all odd and regardless of personal danger. I struggled to rate this book - the ending was pretty abrupt, but with it as the start of a series, that can be overlooked. I enjoyed the interaction between the two men, especially once Kallen got over being afraid of Lorn. Mr. Cox does a fantastic job of creating characters that can be cared about, and my heart wanted good things for them both. The one-liners punctuated the story well. Just as the characters dug in, BOOM!, the spy was revealed. I will certainly seek out the next book to see where the characters go from here.

Forget who you think were the greatest known "duo's" (Abbott and Costello, Laurel and Hardy, Dean Martin and Jerry Lewis, Jack Lemon and Walther Matthau etc.) the " New kids on the block" have arrived - Lavender and Layden!! The back-chat, one liners and bickering between them was simply superb and second to none. If the author ever decided to give up writing and do a one man comedy routine, every appearance would end in a standing ovation! The storyline was one of his best so far, coupled with obscure references like "dumber than an Obarion mud pusher" (know a few people worthy of saying that to) and "dark, hairy Walla Beast" (how does he think these things up?) for me, it was a total winner from start to finish - I loved it. Though this is part of a series, it can be read very successfully as a stand alone, but trust me, you WILL want to read "Handsome Hero Wanted". The one-liners alone warranted a 5* rating, coupled with hot, sizzling sex and such an entertaining storyline, I would award a higher rating if I could!
